The Tuth Behind Gaming

Video games are a form of art they are put together with creativity and care. The media get it wrong alot and are extremely critical over things that do not concern them, sometimes they should stick to politics not what they regret not doing which is playing video games. Video games are arguably the most popular thing that young people do in their spare time.

Many people are blind sighted by the current gen consoles such as the Playstation 4  and Xbox One but I think that people should never forget about the classic consoles which are the fathers of gaming like the N64, Nintendo entertainment system, Playstation 1, Nintendo Wii, Nintendo DS and Gameboy, many people have forgotten because on the current gen consoles there are games like GTA and Call Of Duty which are shooting games and are the most realistic games on the planet.

With that being said these are the games that get criticized by the media, probably because of the graphic violence and influence they are said to have on developing minds, well people always say that young children should not play games like GTA and Call of Duty because they could get influenced very easily, but there is an age rating on the box for a reason these games shouldn’t get criticized it’s the parents who buy these games for their children.

These games are made for 15 year olds and 18 year olds not little 10 year olds, and according to the media it’s the games fault that young children get influenced violently, but it simply is not.

If a 13 or 14 year old child is responsible enough to play these sorts of games then I think it is perfectly reasonable to let them play games similar to Call of Duty and GTA 5, and even then 13 and 14 is not too far away from 15, I am a 13 year old boy and my parents do not allow me to play 18’s but they do allow me to 15’s because I am responsible and I do not get addicted. When I do play 18 rated games it is usually at my friends houses, the highest rated game that I have ever owned is Resident Evil: The Mercenaries on the Nintendo 3DS

Anyways enough criticizing the critics, let’s get deep down into the inner core of Gaming, there are three types of gaming which are: Handheld Gaming( Playing on a portable console), PC Gaming( Playing on a laptop) and Console Gaming( which is basically connecting the console to your TV and playing through a vast library of games in High Definition). By far Console Gaming is the most popular form of Gaming, no arguments about it, the Wii U, Xbox One and PS4 all fall into the Console Gaming category, I myself prefer Handheld gaming as I can play loads of games wherever I want and don't just have to stay in my house to play a game.
